You have been told over and over again by your doctor that you should think of ways to become more active. You know you should be more active, but it seems like it is nearly impossible to increase your activity level in this busy and stressful world we live in. You have gone to the gym before, but you weren’t a fan of the steep monthly membership. Living an active life can be tough, especially since this world seems to promote a lazy lifestyle, not an active one!

The good news is the fact that there are a lot of ways to live an active lifestyle and you don’t have to do the “traditional” type of workouts like lifing weights, jogging, or running on the treadmill. Below I will show you 5 easy ways to become a more active person. These are so much fun you won’t even realize you are exercising!

1. Play With Your Kids

Do you remember when you were a kid? All you wanted to do was run around and play with your friends. Most people don’t realize this, but your kids can be the best trainers ever! If you take some time out of your day to play with your kids you will burn a lot of calories and time will fly by because you are having so much fun. Not only are you becoming a healthier person but you are bonding with your children, that is something money can’t buy.

2. Turn On The Radio And Dance

If you are anything like me, you love dancing. The best part about dancing is the fact that you can do it at any time during the day. Whether you are doing laundry, cleaning the kids room, doing dishes, or just home alone and bored, you can always throw on some music and start moving your body to the beat. You will get your heart rate up and it will turn those boring “chores” into fun activities.

3. Find A Walk Buddy

Studies show that walking for just twenty minutes per day can really help you lose weight. The problem is walking can be boring! That’s not the case when you are with a friend. You will be surprised at the amazing conversations you can have when on a walk with friends, plus it’s just a great time to catch up on everything. Those 20 minutes seem like nothing!

4. Take Dance Lessons With Your Partner

If you can convince your partner to take dance lessons with you this is one of the most fun ways to increase your daily activity. If you have never dances seriously, you will be amazed at how many calories it will burn, plus it is a great way for you and your partner to do something together which can help build your relationship. There are a lot of different options for dancing, you can choose ball room dancing, hip hop, jazz, salsa, and many more. Choose something that you think both you and your partner will enjoy. If you can convince your partner to do this make sure you take advantage of it!

5. Go for a Bike Ride

Going for a bike rid by yourself can be really fun, but if you have a family it would be a great idea to take 20 minutes out of your evening to go on a bike ride with your family. Bike rides don’t have to be anything challenging, you can go on a nice easy ride and still burn a lot of calories.

You don’t have to do all five of these activities, if you just pick one or two you will easily become a much more active person. Sometimes it doesn’t really matter what you do, as long as you are doing something active. So now that you have a list of five ideas, go out and do some!
